Rigid Tactical is seeking highly qualified Medical Support Instructors. This position is located in Gulfport, Mississippi and is in support of the Expeditionary Combat Skills (ECS) Instructor Support contract. The selected candidate will be able to communicate effectively (written/verbal), possess strong interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, proactive, and be innovative in a fast-paced environment. The ECS Medical Support Instructor will perform classroom instruction involving delivery of formal course curriculum in the areas of Basic First Aid, CPR, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), and when appropriate, will provide certification of other personnel. Instructors shall provide for daily set-up and maintenance of all medical training aides utilized in ECS training. Instructors shall assist in classroom and laboratory preparation, including ranges and remote training sites, student administration, test proctoring, and safety procedures to avoid interruptions in the training day. Instructors shall deliver a wide variety of training topics. Instructors shall be familiar with all presentation, delivery method, testing and remediation procedures, curriculum, training aids, devices, electronic podiums, and equipment operation and maintenance procedures associated with the course or section of the course they will instruct.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • ECS Medical Support Instructors will deliver formal course curriculum in the areas of Basic First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).
  • Maintain qualifications and certifications required to perform Instructor duties
  • Maintain proper dress code and grooming standards
  • Promote a cohesive team environment to reach the customer mission requirements
  • Maintain the personal standards of technical and professional levels of competence that are at least equal to that of the Department of the Navy military personnel undergoing training
  • Conduct eight (8) hours training day, (early morning, evening, or night shift) five (5) days a week for the length of the course (Daily activity may extend up to 12 hours if required to meet all training objectives outlined in the curriculum)
  • Provide classroom and laboratory instructions to ECS students following Course of Instructions (COI) including: Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC); Care Under Fire; Tactical Field Care; Tactical Evaluation; Environmental Injuries; Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI).
  • Provide other classroom and laboratory instructions to ECS students following COIs including: Land Navigation; CBRN Protection, CBRNE Event, Operational Risk Management, Individual Combat Equipment.
  • Provide for daily set-up and maintenance of all medical training aides utilized in ECS training
  • Provide tutoring and other remediation to improve student course performance.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • US Citizen.
  • A minimum of two (2) years documented tactical military operational experience in: Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC); Care Under Fire; Tactical Field Care; Tactical Evaluation; Environmental Injuries; Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI).
  • Knowledgeable in basic and advanced training techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in computer technology application as it applies to instructional presentation and the use of classroom training aids.
  • Above average communication skills and the ability to comprehend both verbal and written.
  • Have attended the Navy Instructor Training Course (NITC) (A-012-0077) (or military service equivalent), or Academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or Instructor training via an academic institution.

Academic ITC requirements should contain at a minimum, these Learning Objectives:

  • Effective communication and questioning techniques

  • Lesson delivery performance laboratory
  • Training environment management
  • Inter-personal skills
  • Evaluation and Feedback
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in providing military first aid or emergency room / trauma center care
  • Be willing and able to pass a medical screening, psychological evaluation, and drug screen

Qualifications Desired:

  • Have and maintain current Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) certification in accordance with the latest Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) standards
  • TCCC certified Medical Support Instructors shall have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing military first aid or emergency room / trauma center care
  • 2 years of experience in conducting land navigation.
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current Basic First Aid Certification
  • Prior ECS instructor experience
